Title Insurance in Manitoba: Do You Need It When Buying a Home?
Title insurance is one of those things that comes up when you're buying a home, but a lot of buyers aren't really sure what it is, what it covers or if they even need it.
So we asked real estate lawyer Ashton Freund to explain it.

Basically, title insurance can help protect you from certain problems with the property that you may not know about when you buy it.
But do you actually need it?
That's a good question for your lawyer. They'll explain what it covers, what it doesn't and whether it makes sense for you.
There are A LOT of questions that come up when you're buying a home, especially if you've never done it before. That's one of the reasons we made these videos. We wanted to sit down with people who deal with this stuff every day and ask some of the same questions our clients ask us.
And if you don't understand something during the buying process, ask. We'd much rather you ask the question than sit there wondering what something means.
Buying a home is a big deal. You should understand what you're signing and what you're paying for.
